Cleo Junior Byford, 85, of Duncan, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at Country Club Care Center in Duncan.
Graveside services were 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dan Fletcher officiating. Services were under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Junior was born June 30, 1928, in Duncan, to Henry Cleveland and Earle Fulton Byford. He married Wanda Marie Atkins on Aug. 31, 1947, in Duncan.
She preceded him in death Nov. 7, 2010. Junior was employed for more than 20 years at Halliburton Services in their Maintenance Department. He enjoyed pitching softball, playing basketball, bowling and loved attending to his farm and livestock.
Junior was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans, for which he received recognition as the real grandson of a Confederate Veteran, David E. Fulton. His parents were born at King Township, Indian Territory.
Junior is survived by three children: Dennis Wayne Byford and wife Marsha Lynne Hunt Byford of Stillwater, Carla June Osborn, and Carol Jean Hall and husband Ronald Lynn Hall, all of Duncan; two brothers: Earl D. Byford and wife Sheni, and Eddie V. Byford and wife Evelyn, all of Duncan; two sisters: Claudine Branch and husband James of Oklahoma City, and Peggy Niehoff of Duncan; eight grandchildren: Dennis Wayne Byford Jr. and wife Samonia Catheryne Lee Meredith Byford, Marsha Denise Byford Strickland and husband Denny Strickland, David Wayne Byford, Sheila Marie Osborn Goodson and husband Michael Goodson, Sharon Kay Osborn Adeyiga, Tina Louise Osborn Harrison, Barbara Ann Osborn Berry and husband John Wayne Berry, and Stephanie Reneé Hall Jordan and husband Joseph Franklin Jordan; 16 great-grandchildren: Daniel Wyatt Byford, Michael Christian Byford, Savannah Lynne Strickland, Brian Goodson, Ryan Goodson, Kyle Martin, Cody Martin, Derek E. Vinalay, Jonathan Berry, Joshua Berry, Shayla Wright, Brett Martin, Cleat Harp, Paige Harp, Micheal Andrew Harrison, William Edward Harrison; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Junior was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters, a son-in-law, a granddaughter.
