Mildred Sanders Ogilbee

Jan. 30, 1920 — July 11, 2013

DUNCAN — After a brief illness, Mildred Sanders Ogilbee, 93, passed from this earthly life on Thursday, July 11, 2013, in Temple, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Duncan Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.

Millie was born Jan. 30, 1920, to Freddie Parr and John Phillip Sanders on a farm outside of Loco. In 1938, she graduated from Temple High School as salutatorian of her senior class.

In 1941, she married Orval Eugene Ogilbee, who passed away in 2002. As a homemaker for most of her life, in 1970, she joined Ackley Jewelry and was a valued friend and employee for 15 years. She also worked for Buddy Spurgin’s Accounting firm during tax season.

She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma and greatgrand.

Mildred leaves three daughters, Diane Cowan and husband Wesley, of Moody, Texas; Leisa Helzer and husband Michael of Elgin; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Ballard and wife Dana of Searcy, Ark.; Angela Koke and husband Jeff of Austin, Texas; Jessica Smith and husband Steven of Norman; Kimber Helzer of Lawton, John Helzer and wife Jessica of Fletcher, and Kayla Ogilbee of Waurika; nine great-grandchildren Alexandra and Carson Koke, Madie and Johnathan Ballard, Amelia and Lillian Helzer, and Skylar, Chaz and Jayden Smith; and one sister, Johnnie Sanders Ogilbee of Lawton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association for Central Oklahoma, 2123 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73106. A memorial book is avaliable online at granthamfuneralhomes.com.

    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel, Duncan. Interment will follow where Bette will be laid to rest beside her husband in a family cemetery in Alma.
