Leslie Gerald Monroe, 51, longtime resident of Duncan, passed away Jan. 27, 2014, at Duncan Regional Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Fair Baptist Church with the Rev. David Spangler officiating. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche. Arrangements are under direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Gerald was born Sept. 3, 1962, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Howard and Ola Faye Carraway Monroe. He was a lifetime resident of the Duncan area.
Gerald is survived by his special friend and fiancé, Tammy who has been by his side for two years at Wilkins Nursing Home; two sisters: Wanda Gallaher and husband Jerry of Empire, Opal Hines of Englewood, Fla.; a step-daughter, Christina McNutt of Arkansas; two step-sons: K.C. Whitten and Zachary Monroe of Marlow; two step-grandchildren, four nieces and three nephews, three cousins and an uncle.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and wife.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Gallaher Jr., Johnny Gallaher, Jody Gallaher, Davey Baker, Bobby Davidson and Raymond Davidson.
