Etoy D. Butler, 88, of Duncan, passed away Sunday, Feb. 09, 2014, at her home in Duncan.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the chapel at Don Grantham Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.
Etoy D. Butler was born Jan. 14, 1926, on the home farm west of Comanche, to Sid and Bertha Hokit Miller. She graduated from Comanche High School. Etoy married Jack E. Butler on Feb. 18, 1949, in Atoka.
She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church. Etoy worked for several years at Abbies Dress Shop and retired from Halliburton Services in 1986.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; three brothers: Darrell Miller, Jack Miller, Buddy Miller; and three sisters: Dorothea Edwards, Adiel Johnson and Clochel Gibson.
Survivors include a son, Jack Butler Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas; a daughter, Jan Butler of Duncan; a granddaughter, Jana Strand and her husband John of Germantown, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren: Kendal M. Strand and Stockton Butler Strand of Germantown, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Majorie Butler of Duncan; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins; and two very special caregivers: Daphine Robertson, niece, and Linda Newsome.
Pallbearers will be Billy Clyde Edwards, Jimmy Don Johnson, Donny Ray Gibson, Kenny Miller, Irvin Miller, Mike Grantham, Paul Thomas and Buddy R. Hokit. Honorary Pallbearer is Grady “Bud” Hokit.
The family has asks that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Chisholm Trail Hospice, P.O. Box 2000 Duncan, OK 73534.
