Bill Clark

July 25, 1932 — July 27, 2013

DUNCAN — Bill Clark was born July 25, 1932, in Duncan to Ethel Maureen and Charles Boyd Clark.

He passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, in Elk City at the age of 81 years and two days.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Bill grew up east of Marlow with his parents, who were rural school teachers. He graduated from Woodland High School near Davis.

After graduation, he furthered his education at East Central College in Ada.

Bill was married to Ruby Juanita (Matthews) Clark on January 3, 1952, in Marlow. After their marriage, they remained in the Marlow area and Bill started his career with Halliburton.

Over the next 35 years, Bill and Juanita moved from Marlow to Duncan and then to Carrollton, Texas, where he retired with a subsidiary company of Halliburton in 1987.

In 1997, Bill and Juanita moved to Burns Flat, where they could be closer to relatives and then to Elk City in 2007, where they made their home.

In the 1970s, Bill served one term as the mayor of Marlow and served on the Gun Barrel, Texas city council for two years. Bill also enjoyed HAM radios, flying crop duster aircraft and later in life enjoyed remote control airplanes. He was also a member of the Church Of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Steve Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita, of the home; son, Tony Clark, Carrollton, Texas; cousins, Danny Stotts ofBurns Flat, Juanita Johnson of Burns Flat and Mildred Doller of Marlow and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Westview Boys Home or a charity of your choice in Bill’s name.

    Twyla was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Duncan, to Willard and Ruth Tinkle and died April 16, 2014, after a brief illness. Twyla lived her entire life in the Duncan area.

    Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

    Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, with the Rev. Jay Driskill officiating. Burial will be in the Temple Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.
