Hayden Dillard, 90, a long time Duncan resident, passed away Monday, July1, 2013, at his home in Duncan.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Duncan Cemetery with the Rev. Tracy Wilson officiating.
Hayden was born April 7, 1923, in Waurika, the son of Boyce and Thelma Roden Dillard. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1941, and was active in all sports during his high school years. One of his best events was the low hurdles in track.
He served in the United States Navy Seebeas during World War II, and was stationed at Newfoundland and in the South Pacific. He later attended dental school at Kansas City University, graduating in 1951. He returned to Duncan and opened his dental practice.
He and Maggie Jean Young were married June 20, 1952, and she preceded him in death Feb. 19, 2008.
Hayden was active in all dental meetings and activities until his retirement, serving for many years on the Oklahoma Dental Board. He also loved to hunt, fish and pick pecans.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his sister, Dr. JoAnn Dillard of Duncan; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
