Barbara Sue Morgan passed away early Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013, at her residence in Comanche at the age of 76. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at Countryside Baptist Church, east of Comanche, with Roger Ledford officiating and Dow Pannell assisting.
Burial will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. today.
Sue was born on March 7, 1937, in Ratliff City to Bob and Naomi Morgan. Sue was a true artist and loved to paint. She was one of the founders of the Comanche Opry and loved music. Sue loved animals and loved caring for them.
Sue is survived by two sons, Gary Hughes, Marlow, and Dewayne Hughes, Comanche; one daughter, Gayle Russell Edwards, Blanchard; one brother, Merle Dillon, Houston, Texas; one sister, Irene Shelton and husband, Gene of Comanche; three granddaughters, Alisha Harper, Bray, Nicole Hughes, Douglas, Wyo., Tiffany Ware and husband, Craig, Mustang; two grandsons, Michael Hughes and wife, Jill, Douglas, Wyo., Jordon Edwards and wife, Sydney, Butler; godson, Matthew Leal; and 13 great grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents Bob (1988) and Naomi (1993) Morgan; a son, Alan Dale Hughes (1957); and a grandson, Gary Don Hughes, Jr. (1977)
Pallbearers will be Terry Shelton, Rick Shelton, Thomas McDonald, Daniel Leal, Matthew Leal and Mark Gardenhire. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Blalock, Robert Tucker, Josh Foreaker, Dow Pannell, Jim Bowden, Bob McCormack and Irvin Miller.
