Donald Bruce Ridley

MARLOW — Jan. 3, 1938-April 21, 2014

Marlow: Donald Bruce Ridley, 76, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 in Oklahoma City.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Glory Bound Church, with Rev. David Woods and Rev. Jerry Couch officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Don was born Monday, Jan. 3, 1938 in Duncan, to Bruce Everett and Dorothy Dean (Fowler) Ridley. Don graduated from Duncan High School in 1956 and received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Oklahoma. He had lived in Marlow since 1974. Don worked with his father and his family at Ridley Packing Company for many years. He retired from the State of Oklahoma Department of Commerce with the job placement program. He later worked for Cowboy Investments, Inc. as an order buyer. On Dec. 8, 1972, Don married Debbe Lamb in Duncan. They divorced in 2000. Don was very proud of his service to the community of Marlow, serving on the city council for multiple terms and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He was always willing to help his community in any way. Don was a big supporter of the 4-H and FFA and volunteered as a coach for the Marlow Community baseball league. He enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with his friends. Don loved to travel in his motor home, especially to Red River, N.M. and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include: three sons, Bruce Ridley and wife Carrie of Duncan, Kenny Ridley and wife Jerri of Ardmore, Jason Ridley and wife Shelley of Ada; two daughters, Jill Geeslin and husband Wendell of Greeley, Colo., Jennifer Crockett and husband Alan of Ardmore; 12 grandchildren, Heather Geeslin, Kylie Geeslin, Jordan Wood, Dalton Wortham, Blaine Ridley, Coleton Crockett, Chris Colyer, Kaden Ridley, Kaylyn Crockett, Adam Ridley, Tanner Crockett, Crosby Ridley; sister, Sue Cerney of Duncan; several nieces and nephews and best friend, Debbe Ridley of Marlow.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.
