ARDMORE — Aug. 31, 1970-April 18, 2014

Memorial services for Gregory Allen McFatridge, of Ardmore, will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 2 p.m., at the Christ Community Church with Rev. Tim Lehman officiating. Private family interment will take place at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home in Ardmore.  

Greg was born Aug. 31, 1970, in Duncan to Billy Paul and Sharon Ann (Keenan) McFatridge. He died on Friday evening, April 18, 2014, at his Ardmore residence surrounded by his family.

Greg had attended school in Comanche until his family moved to Ardmore in 1987. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1989.

Greg married the former Rachel Faith Parsons on June 2, 1993 in Ardmore.

Greg joined the Army Reserves and had a very active and decorated career serving his country. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army Feb. 4, 2010. He had worked as a truck driver for five years and had worked at Michelin in several capacities, but worked as a tire inspector before his health forced him to retire. He loved attending sporting events, and was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma City Thunder, Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR, and loved to go fishing. Greg attended the Christ Community Church in Ardmore. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, watch movies and listen to music, and continued many of his activities while he fought his six-year battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease. Greg was a fighter and a "true hero" to all that knew him.

His grandparents, Robert and Christine McFatridge, Lester and Wanda Keenan, and D.T. Gleghorn; brother, Darrin McFatridge; and father-in-law, James Parsons, preceded him in death.

Greg is survived by his wife, Rachel McFatridge of the home; son, Trenton McFatridge of Oklahoma City; daughter, Hannah McFatridge of the home; parents, Bill and Sharon McFatridge of Lone Grove, Okla.; grandmother, Dovie Gleghorn of Duncan; brother, Billy McFatridge and wife Joyce of Lone Grove, Okla.; mother-in-law Judy Parsons of Ardmore; sisters-in-law, Heidi Reeves and husband Justin of Hohenwald, Tenn. and Sara Hall and husband Jerrod of Ardmore; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Casket bearers will be Randy Keenan, Ryan Keenan, Jerrod Hall, David Montgomery, James Reames and Scotty Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 C Street NW, Ardmore, Okla. 73401.

Greg was loved by all, and will be missed.  He is pain-free, and running with Jesus in Paradise.
