DUNCAN — CTAC Live is bringing Grammy nominated artist John Fullbright to Duncan on Friday.

Hailed as one of the best new artists in the music industry, Fullbright is a native Oklahoman and his 2012 “From the Ground Up” album earned him the Grammy nomination.

Chisholm Trail Arts Council and backing from locally-owned Bank of Commerce has made Fullbright’s appearance possible, said CTAC’s Director Darcy Reeves.

Fullbright traverses an emotional and musical terrain that is extremely broad, showing equal acuity with tender ballads and songs that evoke a desire to drive faster with the windows rolled down. Firmly rooted in a variety of musical styles, he draws on what has come before, but without imitation. Fulbright’s style transcends labels and fuses the best of folk, Americana and pop.

Currently on an international tour, the future looks bright for Fullbright.

“Don’t miss this opportunity to experience his unique, musical talents in person,” Reeves said.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with the performance beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Simmons Center, 800 Chisholm Trail Parkway.

Tickets can be purchased prior to Friday’s show date through CTAC’s website at www.chilsholmtrailarts.com/tickets or by calling CTAC’s office at 580-252-4160. Individual show tickets and discounted season tickets may be purchased the night of the event at the Simmons Center box office.
