Susan Bourland Rasmussen

CHANDLER, Ariz. — Jan. 3, 1944 — Feb. 2011

Susan Bourland Rasmussen was born in Duncan on Jan. 3, 1944 in the Lindley Hospital to Mary Kate and George W. Bourland. She attended Duncan Public Schools and after graduation attended  the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, and Northwestern State College in Alva.

She worked for Continental Airlines in Los  Angeles, Cali., before moving to Dallas where she was employed by American Airlines until retiring in 2001. In retirement she became a real estate agent for Lou Hillman Realtors in Grapevine, Texas.

For the past two years she was living in Chandler, Ariz. where she was being treated at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona for the cancer that she fought so valiantly.

Susan was an award winning photographer and artist. Her photograph “The Piano” was featured on the cover of an American Airlines publication.

Susan was predeceased by her son, Lance Bourland Rasmussen, her father, George W. Bourland, and her beloved cats.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Kate Bourland  and her sister, Georgia Bourland Wells, both of Chandler, her nieces, Mary Shannon Wells (Everett and Alden England) of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Meredith Wells Smith, her husband Dr. Matthew Smith (Jackson and Wyatt Smith) of Tempe, Ariz.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Dayspring United Methodist Church in Tempe.

 The family will be at 4812 W.  Joshua Blvd., Chandler, AZ. 85226.

Memorials may be made to the Stephens County Humane Society.

    Twyla was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Duncan, to Willard and Ruth Tinkle and died April 16, 2014, after a brief illness. Twyla lived her entire life in the Duncan area.

    Norma Janice Sutherland Good, 76, passed from this life on April 15, 2014, at Tomball, Texas, because of health complications.
    Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

    Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, with the Rev. Jay Driskill officiating. Burial will be in the Temple Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.
