Wannon B. Cole Sr.

Nov. 6, 1931 — Oct. 26, 2013

DUNCAN — Funeral services for Wannon B. Cole Sr., 81, of Duncan, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the chapel of Don Grantham Funeral Home, with pastors Stephen and Louetta Grace officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the funeral home.

Wannon Brazell Cole Sr. passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at a local nursing home. Wannon was born Nov. 6, 1931, in Rosebud, Ark., to Ray Cole and Norma Davis Heffington Cole.

Wannon served in the US Army during the Korean  War. He attended Roseville Vocational College in Arkansas and worked as a paint and body man repairing cars. He married his wife Louise Wallace Cole on June 13, 1957, in Searcy, Ark.

Wannon was an antique car buff who enjoyed repairing and restoring vintage cars. He loved spending time and living at the lake with his loving wife Louise, welcoming all who came to visit him.

Wannon is preceded in death by his son, Danny Ray Cole; brother, Donald Ray Cole; and his parents: Ray and Norma Cole.

Wannon is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Louise Cole; son, Wannon B. Cole Jr.; grandchildren, Leticia Berry, Tiffany Cole, Wannon B. Cole III; and six great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Chisholm Trail Hospice, and his friends for their love and care of Wannon.
