Lawrence “Larry” passed away surrounded by his family after his long struggle with COPD.
He was born in Shawnee and grew up in Duncan. After graduation he joined the Army, where he was stationed in Germany. When he returned home, he moved to Stillwater and married and started his family. After many years in the banking industry, Larry and his family moved to Edmond and bought a Winchell’s franchise.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Levi Stephens and Pearl Cox; his daughter -in-law, Christi Stephens.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carole Jane “Susie” Stephens; his children: Scott, Jana, Holly, Yan, Robin and Warren; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Larry was known to have always have a smile on his face and huge, caring heart. He was a very loyal man to his friends and family. He was extremely hard working and did whatever it took to provide for his family, and they were his greatest accomplishment.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Santa Fe Depot Museum,614 E. Main St., Shawnee.
