Arnold O’Dan Young

DUNCAN —

Arnold O’Dan Young, 71, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Wilkins Nursing Home in Duncan.

A memorial celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Glory Bound Church in Marlow with pastors David Woods and Dan Anderson officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Arnold was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Duncan to Jessie L. and Virgie (Wever) Young. He was a retired machinist, worked for Cable Meats and owned a gas station for a while.  Arnold loved to fish and collect antiques.

He married Shirley Morris of Duncan and to this union were two sons. He later married Deloyce “Annette” Brown on Aug. 17, 1985, in Marlow and she preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 2010.

Arnold is survived by three children: Ronald Young and wife Tina of Marlow, Charles Young of Tishimingo and Sherry Goddard and husband Dan of Duncan; one sister Sarah Ellen Funk of Raymondville, Texas; grandchildren May-Lynn Young, Tera Young, Christopher Young, Kerri Williams, Wade Williams, Kori Allen, Danna Coapland, James Coapland and Tony Goddard; great-grandchildren Megan Williams, Logan Williams, Kinley Allen, Jessica Kilgore, Jordan Kilgore, Alleigh Hogan, Tatem Coapland and Devyn Goddard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his ex-wife, two brothers Charley Young and Bob Young, two sisters Virginia Miller and Louise Willis, a niece and a nephew.
