Gloria Delores Roys

DUNCAN — Gloria Delores Roys passed from this life surrounded by her loving family on Nov. 4, 2013.

Gloria was born Aug. 2, 1923, to Vincent and Dorothy Quatroche in Southampton, N.Y. She was the second oldest in a family of six children. They were a loving and close group of siblings. She married William Harvey in 1943, and gave birth to two sons: William Jr. and James Harvey.

They resided in East Hampton, N.Y. Her first husband preceded her in death in 1953. She remarried Donald Roys in 1956, and had one child together, Donna Michele. Gloria lived in East Hampton, for more than 40 years.

She loved to cook and garden and won many awards and prizes for baking. She was asked to make her famous cheesecake one year for Jimmy Dean's birthday. In addition, she loved to draw, sing, and sew. She designed and made many of her own outfits. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines (an international four — part harmony organization for women ) in the 1970s.

In 1988, she moved to Duncan, to be near her daughter and family. While in Duncan, she was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and was active in the Ladies' Altar Society. In 2011, she moved with her daughter and family to Columbia, Mo.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Parish. Gloria loved to collect elephants and doing crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as a helpful and kind woman who enjoyed baking treats for people. She loved life, her family and reminiscing about the past. She had an impeccable sense of style and took pride in looking her best when she was in public.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Harvey; her son, William Harvey Jr.; her brother, Vincent Quatroche; sister, Barbara Quatroche; brother, John Bushko; sister-in-law, Anne Bushko; and nephews: John and Michael Quatroche.

She is survived by her brother, Morley Quatroche and sister-in-law Helen; brother, Dr. Robert Quatoche and sister-in-law Diana; brother, Dr. Thomas Quatroche and sister-in-law Marliyn; sister-in-law, Edna Quatroche; her son, James Harvey and daughter-in-law Susan; daughter Donna Blauch and son-in-law Matthew; daughter-in-law, Janet Lane; grandchildren: Taylyn and Forrest Lane, Shamus Harvey, Christina Moreno, Lauren Zettler and husband Nate Zettler, Melissa Blauch, Alexandra Egnew and husband Michael Egnew; and great-grandchildren: Miranda and Kevin Colichio, Emily Harvey, Aiden, Ryan and Christian Zettler, Alexa Egnew; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Nov. 8, at the St. Thomas More Newman Center at The University of Missouri in Columbia Missouri.
