Jerry Sue Whiteley Sanders

July 15, 1942 — Aug. 18, 2013

DUNCAN — Jerry Sue Whiteley Sanders, 71, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013.

She was born July 15, 1942, in Okemah, to Benjamin Franklin and O. V. “Patty” Bachhofer Whiteley. She grew up in the Shawnee area with her mom and step-father Harry Moore. She was a graduate of Shawnee High school.

Jerry worked for 7-Eleven stores and later worked as a home health nurse in the Duncan, area. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and ceramic painting. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, husband Jim Sanders; son, Randy DeJulio; sisters: Edith Garner, Dorothy Wade and Patricia Ann Whiteley; and brother Bill Whiteley.

Jerry is survived by her daughter, Starla Ketcham of Colorado; son, Rodney DeJulio and wife Venia of El Reno; daughter-in-law, Teresa Allen of Yukon; and grandchildren: Blair Ketcham Biddle, Tarl Ketcham, Jelsey DeJulio, Zachary DeJulio and Autumn DeJulio; two great-grandchildren: Thayden and Rowan Biddle; a brother, Ben Whiteley; two sisters: Lorene Dobbins and Corkey Birdsell; and step-brothers: Gary and William Moore.

Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang.

    Twyla was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Duncan, to Willard and Ruth Tinkle and died April 16, 2014, after a brief illness. Twyla lived her entire life in the Duncan area.

    Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
