Ron ‘Dadad’ O’Brien

OKLAHOMA CITY — Ron “Dadad” O’Brien, 77, of Duncan passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, in Oklahoma City.

Ron was born in Dec. 5, 1935, Granite, to Aubrey “Slim” O’Brien and Beulah Livermore. Ron served in the US Army and in the Reserves. Ron married his wife Mary Ann Watson on Dec. 5, 1954, in Altus. Ron worked for Goodner's's Grocery Store as a supervisor for 27 years, before retiring in January 1998, and worked as the night watchman for Mike Terry Auto.

Ron was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ, the World Bible School and AMBUCS. Ron enjoyed fishing, sports, reading, and greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann O’Brien of Duncan; daughter, Marni and her husband Gary Brown of Duncan; son, James Patrick O’Brien of Duncan; grandchildren: Caleb Clauson, Cody Clauson and Catie Clauson.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Beulah O’Brien.

Funeral services for Ron O’Brien will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Eastside Church of Christ with minister Ron Stough officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made in Ron?s honor to the World Bible School or the Eastside Church of Christ Mission Fund.

Pallbearers will be Cody Clauson, Gary Brown, David Cross, David Estes, Austin Freeman and Harmon Parks. Online condolences may be made at

    Twyla was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Duncan, to Willard and Ruth Tinkle and died April 16, 2014, after a brief illness. Twyla lived her entire life in the Duncan area.
