John Lou Greene

Nov. 30, 1945 — March 19, 2013

DUNCAN — What began as a beautiful life on Nov. 30, 1945, a life lived to its fullest, came to a quiet and peaceful end March 19, 2013. We who are left behind, celebrate his life and home going.

John Lou Greene was born in Oklahoma City, to John Lou and Helen Bauknite Green. John was the second of four children born to this union. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John and Helen Green; and younger sister, Rosemary Green.

John attended Douglas Elementary in Duncan, and later attended Duncan Junior High and graduating from Duncan High School, where he was a star football player. John excelled at football and upon graduation from Duncan High, he received a football scholarship to Kansas University. John graduated from Kansas University with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science.

John leaves to cherish the memories of his time here on earth his oldest sister, Linda Jo King (Walter) of Lawton; younger brother, James Clayton Green (Veronica) of Bakersfield, Calif.; a very special niece, Janelle Simone Williams (Kevin) of Richmond, Calif.; five nephews: Phillip Kinney of Lawton, Michael Kinney of Oklahoma City, Joel King of Oklahoma City, Clayton Jardell Green of Bakers-field, and Zachary Green of Los Angeles, Calif.; two great-nieces; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 1, at Stone Chapel CME in Duncan. Don Grantham Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel, Duncan. Interment will follow where Bette will be laid to rest beside her husband in a family cemetery in Alma.
