Julie Ann Smith Montgomery, 40, of Comanche, passed away Thursday evening, Oct. 18, 2012, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Clyde Burk Rodeo Arena, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. The family will be receiving friends 6 to 7 p.m. Monday.
Julie was born Sept. 1, 1972, at Winfield, Ill., to Bruce and Catherine Ann (Horn) Smith. She came to Comanche in 2000, moving from Chicago, Ill. Julie enjoyed golfing, helping with school activities and riding horses. More than anything else she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Jeff, of the home; a daughter, Harley Angeles, of the home; her parents, Bruce and Catherine Smith, Hooversville, Pa.; one sister, Michelle Castoe and husband Larry, of Marlow; grandmothers: Erlene Horn, Hooversville; and Betty Enk, Bartlett, Ill.; an aunt, Sharon Smith, Bartlett; two uncles: Rob Smith and wife Sandy, Des Moines, Iowa, and Scott Smith and wife Judy, Metropolis, Ill.; a niece and nephew, Grace Castoe and Jordan Milhorn, both of Marlow; and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Smith.
