Joy Ann Sadler

May 14, 1931 — Nov. 25, 2013

DUNCAN — Joy Ann Sadler was born on May 14, 1931, in Tulsa. She died on Nov. 25, 2013, in Lawton. Graveside services were Saturday, Nov. 30 at Mountain View Cemetery with Raymond G. Kaping officiating.

Joy was raised and attended school in Woodward. She married Clarence Sadler on Dec. 24, 1952, in Woodward and the couple soon moved to Lawton, where they raised their family.

Joy spent over 30 years teaching pre-school at both public and private schools here in Lawton, and had a positive effect on the lives of thousands of young children during that time. Joy also had a great influence on the raising of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, helping with their raising and giving constructive advice when needed.

She was often times the parent available to give love and support when necessary, and could always be counted on to help with any of life’s challenges her family encountered.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, and her only daughter, Nancy Lee Kaping.

Survivors include two sons, John Sadler of Duncan and Joe Sadler of Lawton; seven grandchildren, Charlotte Webb and her husband Tim of Duncan, Nikki Beachler and husband Russell of Moore, John Ross Sadler and wife Loni of Moore, Savannah Brown and husband Rico of Lawton, Trelle Dandridge and husband Ryan of Galveston, Texas, Trisha Vernon-Cole of Lawton, and Jason Russell of Oklahoma City; six great-grandchildren, Halena and Tyce Beachler of Moore, Alica and Addison Webb of Duncan, and John Taylor and Jessie Sadler of Moore.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
