Addington — Charles (Bill) W. Best, 89 of Duncan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Country Club Care in Duncan.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan Pain officiating. Interment will be at Rock  Creek Cemetery in the Central Community, arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bill was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Rifle, Colo. to Acel and Lucille (Cash) Best. Bill was a graduate of Empire High School, a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a supervisor for Sun Oil Company before retiring after 40 years.

Bill was an active member of the First Baptist Church and served as deacon. He loved to play golf and travel with his wife Colleen. Bill was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his siblings, children, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He loved nothing better than a new baby added to the family. Bill had a true love of sports and spent many summers fly fishing in Colorado with his friends and family.

Bill married Colleen Wylder Dec. 7, 1945, in Long Beach, Calif. and celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Bill is survived by his wife Colleen of the home, son Mickey Dale and wife Wryn Best of Granbury, Texas, daughters Charlene Best of Guthrie, Sharon Smith of Duncan, sisters Bernice Koehler of California, Dean McClennen of Duncan, Wanda Liles of Duncan, Marie and husband Cecil Chatham of Moore, Almeda and husband Charles Dehart of Yukon, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Acel and Lucille Best and a brother Keith Best.

Pallbearers will be Mickey Best, Donovan Underwood, Jason Smith, Alex Villagrana, Seth Best and Mike Sleik.

Memorial contribution may be made to Chisholm Trail Hospice or First Baptist Church Building Fund.
