Jimmie LaRue Morris

DUNCAN — Feb. 29, 1944 — April 11, 2011

Jimmie LaRue Morris, 67, of Duncan, Okla., died on Monday, April 11, 2011, at his home in Duncan.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM, Wednesday, April 13th in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Stough officiating.  Burial will follow at the Duncan Cemetery, under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

He was born Tuesday, February 29, 1944 in Duncan,  the son of Edward L.  and Ima Lee (Stotts)  Morris. Jimmie married Nancy P. Liller on February 20, 1970 in Duncan and she preceded him in death on April 29, 1985. 

Jimmie was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving in the United States Air Force. He was employed as a computer programmer for Halliburton Services, retiring after 27 years of service.

He was compassionate about computers, exercise and his family. Jimmie was an avid reader, especially his Bible and was  a member of Eastside Church of Christ . 

Survivors include his parents, Edward and Ima Lee Morris of Duncan, two sons, Brian Morris  and Justin Morris and his wife Stacy all Duncan, a brother, Lelan Morris and his wife Lois of Lindsay, Okla., a sister, Linda Davenport and her husband Ronny of Houston, Texas, two grandchildren: Karissa Cooper and Kaleb Morris and a very special companion, Patsy A. Morris.

Pallbearers: Johnny Medford, Ronny Gilbert, Ronny Sparks, Randell Pennypacker, Dale Robertson and Charlie Hays.

Honorary bearers: Ronny Davenport, Monty Morris, Gary Goodner and Jack Medford.
