Sharon Dee Maddox

Sept. 8, 1948 — Nov. 16, 2013

Meridian — Sharon Dee Maddox, a lifelong resident of the Meridian community, passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 16, 2013, at her home, at the age of 65.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Dow Pannell officiating, under direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Sharon was born Sept. 8, 1948, to Dee and Betty Smith Ratliff. She was a 1966 graduate of Comanche High School. She worked at Harrington Benefits Insurance until her retirement.

In her earlier years she loved square dancing. She was a wonderful cook, and was lovingly referred to as the “best cook in the world!” She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandson, and all of her family members.

She loved family get-togethers, especially during the holiday season. If anyone ever had a problem, or just needed someone to talk to, he or she would call Sharon, any hour of the day. She was always available to help out her family and friends.

She is survived by her two children: a daughter, Chelle’ Dixon Newsome, Arlington, Texas, and a son, Kyle Maddox, Comanche; two granddaughters: Kylie Dixon and husband Angel, Arlington, Texas, and Harlee Maddox, Comanche; a great-grandson, Tristan Sanchez, Arlington; a sister, Darlene Cobb and husband Lynn, Comanche; a niece, Tori Maddox, Duncan; and two nephews: Shane McClennen and wife Mischa, Duncan, and Brian Maddox; also many cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
