Theodore ‘Ted’ Jackson

May 1, 1924 — Dec. 29, 2013

DUNCAN — Funeral Services for Theodore “Ted” Jackson, 89, longtime resident of Duncan, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at the Chapel at Don Grantham Funeral Home with interment following at Duncan Cemetery with Reverend Tracy Wilson officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Stephens County Honor Guard. Ted passed away on Sunday December 29, 2013 at a local hospital surrounded by his family.

Theodore Jackson was born on May 1, 1924 in Duncan to Lincoln and Fannie Jackson. On June 20, 1942 Ted married his wife Virginia Lee (Fritts) Jackson in Duncan. In 1943 Ted joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II in the 329th AAF and participated in the campaigns in Northern France, the Ardennes, the Rhineland and campaigns in Central Europe. Ted was an Electrician and Home Builder and owned and operated his own businesses for many years. Ted was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Tx. Ted enjoyed his work and watching Thunder Basketball with his daughter Sharon. Ted will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Ted is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lee Jackson; a grandson, Stephen C. McAdams; three brothers, four sisters and his parents.

Those left to cherish Ted’s memory is his daughters, Sharon Williams of Duncan, Caroline Myers of Decatur, Tx; sister, Faye Morgan of Virginia, grandchildren, Tony McAdams of Marlow, Michelle Walker of Florida, Jennifer Dugan of Arizona and granddaughter-in- law, Robin McAdams of Pennsylvania; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kelsey Avants, Jay Watkins, Barry Justus, Greg Justus, James Dixon, Pat Mooney.

Memorials may be left in Ted’s honor to St. Jude Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
