Just weeks after losing its boys basketball coach, Kenny Weast, to cancer, Comanche High School got more troubling news Thursday when two of its students were involved in a single-car accident.

Amy Arnold, the driver of a 1995 Corvette, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Jackson Park Road, or Old U.S. Highway 81, and lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree on the driver’s side.

Arnold was transported by helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. A condition was not available on Arnold at press time.

Arnold is the daughter of Duncan Police Officer Jeff Arnold.

The passenger in the car, Miranda Moore, was listed in good condition at Duncan Regional Hospital, Megan Sanner, media coordinator for DRH, said.
