The Duncan Banner hires new Ad Director

DUNCAN — Angie Love, a versatile and veteran newspaper professional, has been named advertising director of The Duncan Banner.

Already in Duncan, she will oversee sales, marketing and promotional duties for The Banner, Duncan…the magazine, the Bargain Guide, classified advertising, special products and special projects of the 121-year-old company.

“We couldn’t be more pleased,” Ed Darling, publisher of The Banner, said. “Angie has an impressive history of success in our industry. She is bright, creative, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, focused and thorough. Having her on our management team strengthens us in all areas.

“She will quickly become our customers’ best friend and strongest ally. She will also be an asset to the communities we serve in Stephens County.”

Love moves to Duncan from Carlsbad, N.M. where she was advertising director of the Current Argus. Prior to that, she was general manager and director of advertising and marketing for the Blackburn (Texas) Media Group; advertising director for The Ada (Okla.), publisher of the Valley City (N.D.) Times Record; general manager of the Benzie (Mich.) Advisor; and advertising sales manager for the Central Michigan Newspapers Group.

She served 25 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander and human resources officer. She describes the highlight of her naval career as “Seven fun filled months in Kabul, Afghanistan,” where she serves as an information operations officer.

She is a graduate of Ferris State College in Big Rapids, Mich. with degrees in commercial art and advertising.”

Angela said she is “looking forward to becoming a part of the community and getting to know everyone.”
