DUNCAN — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon along Country Club Road on the north side of Duncan and say one person was transported to the hospital.

Duncan Police said they were dispatched to the area at 2:57 p.m. but details were still sketchy as of 4:30 p.m.

Police had taped off an area by the intersection of Country Club Road and Twilight Beach Road.

Some evidence markers had been placed in the middle of Country Club Road and two officers were searching the grass area right next to the street, one using his hands and the other a metal detector.

The area just west of the road has tall, wooden fences with large houses sitting behind them. The area just to the east has a large, white metal barn that sits just north of a larger building at 3202 Country Club Road.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was called to assist and an official with the agency showed up just after 4:20 p.m.

A two-block stretch of Country Club Road was blocked off with police cruisers, and city workers put up large, wooden barriers.

Duncan Police Chief Danny Ford said he could not provide any further immediate details, including whether there had been a fatality.
