Duncan resident named to Memphis, Tennessee’s Top 40 under 40

DUNCAN — For the second time, Emily Callahan has been named a Top 40 under 40 person, this time in a different city.

Callahan was chosen as one of Memphis, Tenn.’s Top 40 under 40 people for 2013-14. She was picked for the same honor in 2009 when she lived in Dallas and served as Komen for the Cure vice president of communications. She is now chief marketing officer for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The 35-year-old is a Duncan native and the daughter of Floyd and Patty Wininger. She was also inducted into the Duncan Public School Foundation Hall of Fame in 2012.

When asked what her keys to success are Callahan answered, “Serve others, be positive, be visionary, surround myself with talented people and maintain a healthy balance.”

Callahan has a bachelor of arts in journalism from Baylor University and a master of journalism from the University of North Texas. She is married to Jason Callahan and has two children, Emerson, 4, and Jennings, 1.
