DUNCAN — Nearly 100 people crowded in the second floor lobby of the Stephens County Courthouse today just before 1 p.m. to attend the arraignment of three juveniles, who appeared in court for the shooting death of Australian native Christopher Lane.

By 1:30 p.m., court had begun, and once court adjourns, more information will be released.

Stephens County Undersheriff John Smith issued ground rules for media present in the second floor lobby. The rules ranged from not electronic devices to keeping cell phones on silent.

Cameras are not allowed inside the courtrooms.

A metal detector was in place at the hallway just past the entrance to the Stephens County District Attorney’s Office. Anyone wanting to go down that hallway or attend the proceedings had to go through the security checkpoint, which was manned by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
