DUNCAN — Duncan Mayor Gene Brown signed a Proclamation May 2, 2013, indicating a mandatory water rationing that will begin Thursday, May 9.

It is based on Ordinance Number 1715 that was drafted March 12, 2013, as a stage two mandatory restriction of outside water usage - to every other day.

All Duncan consumers of water will have to adhere to the mandatory restriction of outside water usage including, but not limited to watering of lawns, trees, shrubs, gardens and bedding plants, vehicle washing, washing or hosing down of sidewalks, driveways, streets, filling of pools or other recreational uses - to the hours between midnight and 9 a.m. every other day from March 1 - Oct. 31.

Furthermore, this is also applicable to between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. every other day from Nov. 1, 2013 to Feb. 29, 2014.

Watering within said authorized time frames is limited to even numbered days for street addresses ending in an even number, and odd numbered days for street addresses ending in an odd number.

Basically, if your address ends in an odd number, then on Thursday, May 9, you could use your outside water, and then again every other day. Addresses ending in an even number can water outside on Friday and every other day (even calendar days.)

If there are questions, those should be directed to the City of Duncan at 580-252-0250.
