Fire lights up neighborhood at PIne and 13th

DUNCAN — A fire, which caused $4,500 in estimated damages, ravaged a storage building, a fence and a detached garage behind the a Duncan home Tuesday at 1307 W. Pine.

The fire was originally called in by a passerby as well as the resident at 1307 W. Pine, Akalya Conway. According to a narrative filed by Duncan Fire Department’s Bobby Beck, the fire seemed to originate at the fence between 703 N. 14th and 1307 W. Pine. T

he first address, 703 N. 14th, was deemed to have been vacant for an extended period of time with the only signs of life being discarded cigarette butts near the fence. These were not necessarily thought to be the cause of the fire although the source of origination has not been determined. There was an estimated $3,000 in damages to the buildings and $1,500 in damages to the contents of the property.
