A Duncan man was discovered dead in his home Thursday, but authorities don’t believe foul play is the cause.
Duncan Captain Jay Evans confirmed the death.
“It does appear to be unusual, but we don’t suspect foul play. Anytime we have a scene like this, we treat it as we would a homicide,” he said.
Evans said the man’s body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy. He said there did not appear to be a weapon involved, and that it also didn’t appear to be suicide, but there was an unusual amount of blood.
Crime scene tape was put around the home and the man’s pickup sat in the driveway. It bore a Freedom Biker Church decal in the rear window and had a special license plate tag indicating he was retired Armed Forces.
According to neighbors, the man had just moved into the home at the beginning of June and told them he was from New York and that he had a war injury and received a pension.
His name has not been released pending next of kin notification.
