Candlelight memorial tonight at DHS baseball field

DUNCAN — A prayer vigil and candlelight memorial service will be held at Duncan High School baseball field at 9:15 p.m. today for Alyssa Dawn Wiles, 14, who died Monday.

Those planning to attend should begin arriving around 8:30 p.m. Candles will be provided and people can also bring their own. A friend of the family encourages anyone who wants to display green bows or lights, including businesses, to do so today in her memory.

Two local pastors will each speak at the service tonight.

Alyssa is the daughter of Brad and Angela Wiles, and sister of Zachary Abbott, all of Duncan.

Stephanie Gregston, owner of Heartbeat Dance Studio, has been helping in establishing the candlelight vigil. She encourages people to wear green. Lime green was Alyssa’s favorite color.

A memorial fund, “Alyssa Wiles Memorial Fund” has been established at First Bank & Trust in Duncan. See her obituary, page 3 for more details regarding the fund, visitation and funeral services.

Duncan Police will have a location designated for media parking just off Pine Avenue, in the alley behind the radio station.
