OKLAHOMA CITY —
State Sen. Connie Johnson will host a public education and awareness event at the State Capitol from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, in rooms 419-A, B and C on the science of medical marijuana, also known as cannabidiol or CBD treatment.
Featured speakers will include experts in the use of medical marijuana--including Josh Stanley a native Oklahoman--as well as family members of epilepsy patients whose conditions are being successfully treated with medical marijuana.
Twenty states currently allow seriously ill patients to possess marijuana for medical purposes with a physician’s recommendation. Colorado is the leader among state in the successful roll out of medical marijuana dispensaries and production protocols. According to a recently released Sooner Poll, 71.2 percent of Oklahomans say they support similar regulation of medical marijuana for this state.
