Man charged with lewd acts to child

DUNCAN — A Duncan man remained in the Stephens County Jail on Thursday on a charge of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16.

Isabel C. Garcia, 51, admitted he molested the girl to police, who investigated  after the girl  told a counselor.

“In the initial interview, Garcia denied any sexual contact with (the juvenile). And after a follow up interview with Garcia on Jan. 11, 2013, Garcia confessed to Lt. Joe Shoemake that he had touched (the girl) in the groin area and later confessed to your affiant (Duncan Detective John Byers) that he had touched (the girl) in the groin area during the ice storm in 2010,”  the affidavit filed by police stated.

Garcia told police he had only touched the juvenile once during the ice storm and denied touching her anywhere else on her body.

He is being held in lieu of a  $250,000 bond.

Police said the girl was molsted from 2010 and  to 2012.

Byers said in the arrest affidavit  the juvenile “had disclosed in counseling that she had been molested by a friend of the family over the past two years.”

The child’s mother told police the incidents occured at her home and at Garcia’s residence.

Byers said, in his report, he interviewed the girl, who said Garcia had also “touched her ‘bottom’ and breasts more than one time ‘skin to skin’ and later used an anatomical drawing to describe the bottom and her breasts” and his genitals.

Garcia is set to appear in court at 2 p.m. March 28. His preliminary hearing conference is set for 9 a.m. April 9.

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
