DUNCAN — There are only a few days left to purchase tickets for the 3rd annual Daddy Daughter Dance.

Tickets are limited to only 100 couples and 25 additional daughters to avoid overcrowding for the event, which is sponsored by the Simmons Center. The dance is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Simmons Center.

“We’ve sold 75 couples and 16 additional daughters,” said Stephanie Sullivan, event coordinator, on Tuesday morning.

No tickets will be sold at the door. In order to get them call 580-252-2900 ext. 240 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. today through Friday. This is a popular event, so it’s best to call soon.

“We are excited to have made it to a third year,” Sullivan said. “There are a lot of people who tell us this is their favorite thing each year and it gets better every time.”

This is an opportunity for fathers and daughters to get dressed up and go out for a nice evening. Many dads treat it as a full-out date night by taking their little girl(s) out to dinner before the dance.

However, if dinner isn’t in the plans, hors d’oeuvres will be catered by Duncan Regional Hospital during the event. Door prizes will be given out through the night as daddies and daughters dance the evening way to the sounds of DJ Eddie Culberson with Charming Entertainment.

“Santa will be here again, this time with a photo booth instead of a photographer,” said Sullivan.

This event is a rare chance for a special night for daddies’ little girls that allows fathers to show their daughters how they should be treated with respect when out on future dates.
