Comanche man dies in single-vehicle accident

DUNCAN — A Comanche man died as the result of a single-vehicle accident in rural Stephens County.

Wayne Farnam, 58, was driving north on County Road 278, about two miles south of County Road 1860, when his vehicle ran off the left side of the road. According to a report filed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Farnam was driving “at a high rate of speed, and his vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason.

“The vehicle vaulted into a field, rolling one time.”

Farnam was ejected from the driver’s side window an unknown distance, noted the report.

Farnam was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to Bailes-Polk Funeral Home by the funeral home.

Seat belts were equipped but were not in use. The airbags did not deploy.
