DUNCAN — After almost 17 hours without power, the City of Comanche had its electricity restored early Wednesday morning.

After circuit switches at the city’s electrical substation blew around 9 a.m. Tuesday, power had to be turned off to the entire town. After temporary repairs were made to the old transformer, residents had electricity again at about 2 a.m. Wednesday.

“We have some minor things to do today (Wednesday) that will have us out again for an hour or two around 3 p.m.,” said Wilt Brown, Comanche city manager.
