A 14-year-boy pleaded guilty on Monday to helping his older friend kill Alyssa Wiles, who was stabbed to death in her bed last summer.
The teenager, whose identity remains confidential by law, was accused of serving as a lookout for Michael Anthony Ray when he killed Wiles at her family home in Duncan on June 10, 2013.
The girl had broken up with Ray a few days before he killed her, police said, and the butcher knife used in the slaying was obtained from the home of the killer’s 14-year-old friend, police said.
The teenager on March 14 will appear before State District Judge Brent Russell, who can order him to either remain in the custody with the Office of Juvenile Affairs or be released to his parents.
Ray, 16, of Marlow, who could get life in prison, will be sentenced on March 5.
He could receive a life prison sentence but cannot be denied a chance at parole because of his young age.
