DUNCAN On Tuesday, Arvest Bank and the Walton Family Foundation presented check donations to four organizations in the Stephens County area.

Arvest Bank President Cindy Reynolds said that these organizations were chosen for all the hard work that they do and for all that they do for the community.

“These organizations are such great representatives of the Stephens County area,” Reynolds said. “They do wonderful work with the people in the area and they also will put this money to good use.”

The Walton Family Foundation donated around $10,000 in total to the four organizations. The four organizations that received the donations were the Duncan Regional Hospital Health Foundation, Stephens County Humane Society, Duncan Public Schools Foundation, and Chisholm Trail Arts Council.

The organizations plan to use the money that they received in a variety of different ways to help the community. Stephens County Humane Society Board of Directors President, Nancy Litsch said that they intend to use the money for low cost spading and neutering of animals to members of the Stephens County communities.

“We are very grateful to the Walton Foudation and the donations that they made to the Humane Society,” Litsch said. “This money will be put to great use and will help in our efforts.”

Duncan Public Schools Foundation Administrative Assistant Debbie Parks said that the donation it received will be used to the Grants-to-Teachers program that they have established.

“This money will be extremely useful in helping further our kids educations,” Parks said. “Using to buy new things for the teachers to better educate our students is always a positive thing.”

DPS Foundation will also use money that it received for the renovating of the athletic facilities fund and the City of Champions program.

The Duncan Regional Hospital Health Foundation will use the money to help with DRH’s Hands on Health, a high-tech, high-touch interactive learning center for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

The Chisholm Trail Arts Society will use the money to assist in programs such as Live from the Center, Arts Explosion and The Artists in school program.

“We are excited to present these donations on behalf of the Walton Family Foundation and are very pleased to be able to help such wonderful organizations,” Reynolds said.
