Chamber to host Holiday Gifts & Glitz

First year for shopping showcase event

DUNCAN — The holiday season is quickly approaching.

The Duncan Chamber of Commerce and Industry will have its Holiday Gifts & Glitz from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Chamber of Commerce auditorium.

Laurie Baldwin, Chamber events coordinator, said this is the first year for the event, which will act as a holiday shopping showcase for home-based and small businesses.

“There will be some vendors doing demonstrations,” Baldwin said.

The event will feature 12 Chamber members. They run the gauntlet of cooking utensils to makeup.

“Specialty items will be offered,” Baldwin said.

Baldwin said the event will have plenty of items for people who visit the Chamber for the event. There will be gift bags for the first 75 people. She said food will also be part of the event.

Door prizes will be awarded each hour. There will be no admission charge for anyone wanting to shop.

Baldwin said the program will provide an ample opportunity for people to get started on their Christmas shopping. She said the holidays are approaching quickly. The program is a way to beat the crowds before all stores become overrun with holiday shoppers.

“It’s upon us,” she said.
