DUNCAN —
Thirty-three contestants, ranging from prekindergartners to high school seniors, will compete in five divisions at the 101st Stephens County Free Fair Pageant.
The event will take place at 1 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center.
The coronation will be held during the fair on Aug. 21.
The purpose of the Stephens County Free Fair Pageant is to motivate young women within the county to take an active role in community organizations, share what they have learned about Stephens County with others, and to help promote the Stephens County Free Fair.
The pageant is held in advance of the fair each year because the fairgrounds are crowded during the actual fair and there are so many activities going on. The coronation is a highlight of the fair itself.
