Collision sends 2 drivers to hospitals

A collision at 11:14 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 81 and Apache Street in Terral sent both drivers to hospitals with head injuries.
Michael J. Freeman, 23, of Terral, was driving a 2003 Hyundai Coupe west on Apache, and John H.M. Turner, 34, of Duncan, was driving a 2008 Dodge pickup north on U.S. 81. Freeman failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with Turner’s vehicle.
Freeman was not wearing a seat belt and had an odor of alcohol, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. Airbags were equipped in both vehicles and deployed.
Freeman was medi-flighted to United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas, and was admitted in critical condition with head injuries.
Turner was transported by Waurika EMS to Jefferson County Hospital. He was admitted in good condition with head injuries.
