A Loco man suffered injuries after his 2006 GMC pickup crashed 5 1/2 miles east of Oklahoma Hills Road in Stephens County Monday.

According to the accident report prepared by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Chance Lipe, Jeffery L. Milburn, 51, was talking on his cell phone when his car ran off the roadway to the right.

According to the report, Milburn overcorrected and ran the vehicle off the roadway to the left, which then struck a guard rail end and over turned.

According to the report, Milburn was ejected from his vehicle from an unknown distance. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Milburn was transported to Duncan Regional Hospital (DRH) and admitted in critical condition with internal and head injuries. Milburn was then tranfered to OU Presbyterian in Oklahoma City, said Megan Sanner, a media coordinator for DRH.

A media coordinator for OU Presbyterian said Milburn was in fair condition Monday night.

Lipe was assisted by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Velma Police Department.
