Staci Sudberry Smith earns Fellow of HFMA

The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) has awarded Staci Sudberry Smith the certification of Fellow (FHFMA) – a recognized marker of leadership and professionalism.  
Sudberry Smith graduated from Marlow High School in 1989 and is the daughter of Virginia and the late Richard Sudberry. Her grandparents were Carmack and Winona Sudberry and Emory and Ethelda Green, all were Duncan residents. 
“My dad’s parents owned Sudberry’s Paint & Lumber for years and then my dad had Sudberry’s framing,” Staci said.
Sudberry Smith, an HFMA member since 2005 and HFMA Oklahoma Chapter, participant, earned this prominent designation by demonstrating a significant level of expertise, service, and commitment to transforming the healthcare finance industry.  
Staci has more than 18 years of experience in healthcare management with both providers and payers. Her expertise is in Health Information Management, Case Management and Revenue Cycle. She has worked for both the largest non-profit and the largest for-profit health systems in Oklahoma.  
Staci has also worked for the largest insurance company in Oklahoma. She was employed as a supervising consultant with one of the top 10 accounting and health care consulting firms.
Staci is an accomplished speaker and has presented numerous seminars to various health care organizations, including the American Health Information Management Association, Oklahoma Hospital Association, Oklahoma Healthcare Financial Management Association, Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accounts, Oklahoma State Medical Association and the Oklahoma Health Information Management Association.
Credentials include being a registered health information administrator, registered nurse, certified coding specialist, and certified healthcare finance professional.  
She is a member of the American Health Information Management Association and its component state association OkHIMA. Staci is active with the Healthcare Financial Management Association and Oklahoma HFMA. She is a recipient of the prestigious Follmer Bronze Award from HFMA.

Fewer than 1,200 individuals have received this honor in the organization’s 65 year history.
