DUNCAN — Kenneth and Ursula Gauthun will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception 2-4:30 p.m. today, at the Canterbury Tea Room, hosted by Jackie Weber, Pat Kearby and daughter, Shirley Stinnett.

Kenneth Gauthun and Ursula Eckardt were married May 5, 1953 in Germany. The couple met at a dance in Fulda, Germany. Throughout their marriage, they have lived on military bases in the U.S., Germany and Bangkok, Thailand. They moved to Duncan in 1972.

Kenneth was employed by the U.S. Army until 1970, then worked at a few places before full retirement in 1989. Ursula has been a homemaker most of their marriage.

The Gauthuns belong to the VFW, where Kenneth is chaplain, and they are members of City Heights Baptist Church, where Kenneth is a deacon. He is involved in veteran’s ministry at Freedom Biker Church.

Ursula loves being a Red Hat Lady as a member of the Red Hat Posse and loves to shop. The couple love family get togethers and their dog, Joey.

Children are, son Dieter Gauthun and family; a daughter, Shirley Stinnett and husband Mike; granddaughter Rachel Wiseley and husband Larry; and great-grandchildren Kortney and Boston Brown; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They also have a very close friend, Tommy Anthony; and Shirley’s best friend Jackie Weber and her husband Ken.
