DUNCAN — Lauren Danielle Frye and Jacob Ross Merritt will exchange wedding vows March 23, 2013 at Walnut Creek Wedding Chapel in Oklahoma City with pastor Ken Brown from St. Gregory’s University officiating.
Bride-elect is the daughter of Donna Frye of Comanche and Todd Frye of Avon, Colo. Her grandparents are Rex and Nalda Frye of Duncan and the late Leon and Ruth Wampler of Comanche.
Prospective groom is the son of Jim and Kristy Merritt of Manchester, Conn. His grandparents are Laura Hayes of Chicago, Ill. and Pat Graham of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Lauren graduated in 2007 from Duncan High School, where she was active in National Honor society, Who’s Who, DHS Marching band colorguard, DHS pom squad, Lucky Circle club and graduated with a diploma of distinction. Lauren graduated in 2012 from St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee with a bachelors degree in dance performance/education. She was active in Spirit and Sole dance company, Liturgical dance ensemble, Basketball dancers, Zeta Xi Lambda Sorority, and Alpha Psi Omega theatre honor society. She has been active with Relay For Life in Shawnee and Duncan and an orientation leader for four years at SGU. She is employed at Creative Dancewear in Oklahoma City and teaches dance classes at Dance Phase in Edmond.
Jake graduated in 2008 from Cheny Technical High School in Manchester, Conn. with a diploma in culinary arts. He graduated in 2012 from St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee with a bachelors degree in history. He is employed at Homeland as a butcher and Bishop McGuinness schools as an assistant baseball coach.
