Empire boys 96, Grandfield 79

EMPIRE — The Empire Bulldogs wore Grandfield Bearcats down, outscoring the visitors 35-20 in the fourth quarter to improve to 2-0 in a 96-79 win. Chance Bridges scored 31 points to pace Empire.

“We ran them into the ground in the fourth quarter,” Empire head coach Vaughn Blankenship said. “Our legs are starting to come around.”

Shoshonee Sales had a strong night with 24 points and Jared Smith added 11. The Bulldogs will be back in action next Tuesday when they travel to Velma-Alma.

Walters girls 73, Temple 22

The Walter Lady Blue Devils flew by the Temple Lady Tigers Tuesday night, putting together quarters of 26, 20, 16 and 11.

Cassadie Holybee had 25 points to lead Walters, as Vanessa Karpe added 16 and Tashina Ototivo had 10. Walters is now 2-0 on the year.
