Boles wins Labror Day tourney

The Duncan Golf & Country Club’s 79th Labor Day Golf tournament concluded in a wild finish Monday.
Kenny Miller of California and Duncan’s David Jennings were tied for first place at 134 coming into the final round, with Mitch Boles sitting two strokes back.
That group made up the final trio to tee off, but it was Boles that came out on top. Boles finished with a 6-under 66 for a tournament total of 202. Boles shot a pair of 68s on Saturday and Sunday.
Jennings and Brad Risenhoover tied for second. Jennings shot a 68-66-72 – 206, and Risenhoover shot 67-72-67 – 206.
David Studebacker placed fourth with a 71-68-68 – 207, Miller fell to fifth (69-65-74 – 208).
Todd Mayfield and Sam Proal tied for sixth. Proal finished with a 71-72-66 – 209, while Mayfield shot 70-71-68.
Ryan King shot a 67 on the final day to move up to eighth after shooting a 71 and a 72 on the first two days.
Chris Dickerson finished with a 74-73-69 – 216 for ninth, and Dan Kindy shot a 73 to finish with a 217 after two rounds of 72.
Zade Winslow and Micah Russell won A Flight with a 199 (65-62-72), while Jay Head and Kyle McPherson placed second with a 68-64-69 – 201.
Marty Askins and Kim Watson were third in the top team flight at 203 (67-63-73) and Gary Davis and Terry Dittner came in fourth at 72-64-69 – 205.
In B Flight, Wayne and Tommy Bardsher were the top team clubbing a three-day total of 210 (72-65-73). Scott Cary and Chris Choate shot 74-66-71 – 211 for second. In third was the team of Joe Love and Randy McLain with a 73-62-77 – 212. Hal and David Moore shot 68-70-75 – 213 for fourth.
Stan Reyes and Jerry Emerson won a scorecard playoff with Jeff Wilson and Calvin Kirkland in C Flight. Kirkland and Wilson shot 75-61-71, while Reyes and Emerson shot 69-68-71 over three days.
David Hammond and Mike Fiorillo placed third (74-64-73 – 211), and Gary Newberry and Shawn Bateman placed fourth, shooting 71-68-74 – 213.
In D Flight, Doug Smith and Ron Gray shot 72-70-75 – 217 to take first. The next team, Terry Callaham and Blake Callaham, were five strokes back (76-63-83 – 222). Randy Smith and Shawn Lemons were third, clubbing a 75-75-84 – 227. James Troutman and Jimmy Tilley were fourth with a 73-76-81 – 230.
