Rose hangs on to win Hoedebeck’s 16-18 boys’ division

Trevor Rose finished atop the boys’ 16-18 division at the Darren Hoedebeck Memorial Golf Tournament Wednesday at the Duncan Golf & Country Club.
Rose finished the tournament with a round of 76 for a 147 total after posting a 71 on the first day.
Tanner Harman was second with a 74-75 – 149, while Derek Franko carded the lowest round in the division with a 74 to pull himself up third with a total of 152. Nathan Hamsted was fourth. Hamsted finished with a 72 Tuesday but expanded to 81 Wednesday for a 153 total.
In the 14-15 boys’ division, Trey Payne and Taylor Williams both finished with a 146. Williams won the suden-death playoff.
David McMurry was third with a 74-77-151, and Drew Wright was fourth with a 76-78-154.
Wyatt Robson broke a two-way tie in the 12-13 boys’ grouping with Will Roberts. Robson shot a 79 to finish with a 158. Both players posted scores of 79 on Tuesday. Grant VanHoose stayed in third (85-77-162), while Ryan Cox grabbed fourth with a round of 80 after clubbing an 86 Tuesday.
In the 11 & under division, Patrick Ball grabbed the win on the second day as he finished with a two-day score of 100 (53-47), while Blake Riesen was second (54-57 – 111). Logan Smith (60-55) and Cooper Little (51-64) both finished with a 115 total.
Shawnda Petree won the 16-18 girls’ division, carding a 165 (78-87), while Sarah Harper was second (83-87 – 170). Julie Wortham was third carding a 94-84 – 178. Haley Gunkel finished fourth (97-85 – 182).
In the three-player 14-15 division, Aleesha Holden was first with a 171 (86-85), while Karin Cockran was second, 110-109-219. Taylor Lette shot 123 on the first day and 119 on the second for a 242 total.
Megan Blonie shot a 45 to finish with an 88 and first place in the 12-13 girls’ group. June Tigert (47-43) and Allyson Wilcox (45-45) both finished the tournament with scores of 90. Charter Lawson was fourth with a 45-46 – 91.
Kenzy Williams was the lone female golfer in the 11 & under and finished with a tourney total of 156 (77-79).
Williams won the closest-to-the- pin contest for her age group, while Tigert, Holden and Wortham took the honor in the other age groups.
John Campbell was closest to the pin in the 11 & under boys’ bracket, while Robson (12-13), Tyler Morrow (14-15) and Jed Williams (16-18) got the awards in the other divisions.
